The Artisan Imperial is our own new snooker table, made in Accrington by skilled ex-Riley machinists and fitters. The 9ft solid oak table shown here was ordered and installed in Aberdeenshire. It is built by the same people who made Ronnie O'Sullivan's personal solid walnut match table. Between them, the makers have over 120 years of experience in technical design and ten years in manufacturing World Tournament tables for the World Snooker Association.
How it is made
Each table is crafted from scratch. Rough sawn hardwood comes from local specialist timber suppliers, and every component is hand machined and finished individually to exacting standards. The frame carries internal adjustable slate supports, and the precision ground slate bed is three pieces of 1½ inch solid slate. Every table is made at the standard snooker height of 33½ inches from the floor to the top of the cushion.
Wood is a natural material and can move and settle into a new environment over time. If any cracks appear in the woodwork, they can be filled with furniture wax or wood filler to disguise the marks.

Choosing the cloth
Our fitters all served their apprenticeships at Riley when the factories were in Accrington and Padiham, and they regard Hainsworth Smart as the benchmark cloth. It is hard wearing, giving seven to ten years of use, and it is what you will find in most snooker halls and clubs around the world.
Strachan Tournament and Hainsworth Match cloth last around twelve months. This is what a snooker hall would put on its match table, and we can fit it as an upgrade on any snooker table we offer. Strachan Match and Hainsworth Precision cloth, as used in professional tournaments, last only a matter of weeks.
