12ft Riley Club (new model)

A full-size Riley Club snooker table from around 2018, the new contemporary version of this classic Riley design. It was just five years old when it came to us, had been installed in a basement out of the sunlight and had seen very little use. There was no damage at all. This table has now been sold.

It carries a five-piece 1¾ inch slate bed.

The refurbishment

With the woodwork already in as-new condition, the table needed less than our usual full strip. It was thoroughly sanded and given a new finishing coat to bring it back to as new.

• New nets and leathers fitted
• Cushions and bed recovered in new Hainsworth Smart wool napped cloth, in the colour of the buyer's choice

A note on cloth

Our table fitters all served their apprenticeships at Riley Snooker when the manufacturing base was here in Accrington and Padiham. In their experience Hainsworth Smart and Strachan 6811 are very similar cloths, both hard wearing and good for five to seven years of use. Strachan 6811 costs £40 more, largely because you are paying for their television advertising; Hainsworth Smart is every bit as good, if not better, and it is the cloth you will find in most snooker halls and clubs the world over.

Faster cloths are available on any table we offer, but they do not last as long.

• Strachan Tournament and Hainsworth Match last around 12 months. This is the type of cloth on a snooker hall match table. £130 extra.
• Strachan Match and Hainsworth Precision last only a matter of weeks. This is the cloth used in professional tournaments. £130 extra.
