This full-size table was only a few years old when it came to us. The previous owner bought it new and had it installed in his private residence, and it showed no signs of wear, scratches or marks whatsoever. It has now been sold.
All the woodwork is solid European oak. The design is similar to a Riley Aristocrat, with Aristocrat-style fluted legs and frame.
The table
The table sits on eight solid oak turned legs with a solid oak frame and cushions. The cushions are heavily engineered to give good ball response and are fitted with Northern rubbers.
The bed is a five-piece 1¾ inch genuine Italian slate. Each slate has its own adjustable slate bearers for fine-tuning a level playing surface, which is a real improvement over our standard tables.
The refurbishment
Because the table was in as-new condition, the original nets, leathers and ball runners stayed in place on all pockets. The cushions and bed were recovered in new Hainsworth Smart wool napped cloth, in traditional olive green or the buyer's own choice of colour.
