5ft E.J Riley Oak Barley Snooker Dining Table

A 1920s E.J Riley snooker dining table in solid oak with barley twist legs and a brass rise and fall mechanism

5ft oak Riley barley twist

This 5ft E.J Riley snooker dining table was made in Accrington in the 1920s from solid oak, with barley twist legs and a very good four-piece solid oak dining top. A brass rise and fall mechanism moves the table between dining and playing height.

The table measures 65 x 35 inches overall, with a 68 x 38 inch top and a 57 x 27 inch playing area. A room of 12ft x 9ft 6in gives unobstructed play with 42 inch cues.

The table

The legs are set 47¾ inches apart lengthways and 17¾ inches apart at the ends, so there is room to sit at it as a dining table.

The refurbishment

The table was sold with our full refurbishment. All the woodwork is stripped back to the bare wood, any imperfections are repaired, and the complete table is re-polished back to its original state. Refurbished this way, it looks and plays as new.

  • New pocket leathers and nets
  • Cushions and bed recovered in Hainsworth Smart wool napped cloth

What comes with it

  • Two snooker cues
  • Aramith snooker balls
  • Triangle
  • Cross rest and spider rest
  • Scoreboard
