This 6ft E.J Riley of Accrington snooker dining table was made around 1910 from solid English oak and came to us from a private residence in Sheffield. The first photograph shows the actual table as we acquired it.
It keeps its original solid brass rise and fall mechanism, which takes the table from dining height (29½ inches) to playing height (32½ inches), and its original four-piece solid oak dining top. The bed is a single piece of precision ground ½ inch Welsh slate.
The table
Outside dimensions are 78 x 42 inches, with an inside playing area of 69 x 33 inches. The second photograph shows a similar model in solid mahogany, refurbished, to give an idea of how this one will look and play once finished.
The refurbishment
Once fully refurbished the table will be brought back to its full glory. All the woodwork is stripped and sanded, any imperfections are repaired, and the table is finished in the original factory mid oak polish. It will look and play as new.
